Since graduating in 2018, Turner College alum  Adrien Vakerics has established himself as a human resource  professional with recruitment experience for highly technical positions. After completing a B.A. in psychology from LaGrange College, where he was inducted into both the  Alpha Mu Gamma (Foreign Language) Honor Society  and the  Omicron Delta Kappa (Leadership) Honor Society , Adrien entered the graduate organizational leadership program in the Turner College and earned an MSOL with a concentration in human resources. This educational background propelled Adrien into a human resources assistant role with Macias, Gini & O'Connell LLP. From there he moved into the Human Resources Generalist position with Amynta Group, where he worked almost three years. Federal government spending in response to COVID-19 and military conflicts in Europe and the Middle East have combined to recently push the U.S. national debt above $1 trillion for the first time in history. As expected, annual debt service payments have risen sharply over the past four years, increasing from about $521 billion to $940 billion, representing an 80.4% increase. A new study by Turner College economist Frank Mixon and his colleagues Richard Cebula of the University of Tennessee, Jason Jolley of Ohio University and Kamal Upadhyaya of the University of New Haven develops a conceptual macroeconomic model to more fully appreciate the monetary policy impact on U.S. Treasury debt service and growth of the national debt that divides federal government spending into separate categories for (1) exogenous real expenditures on new goods and services and (2) interest rate sensitive payments made by the government to service its national debt. TSYS School computer scientist Rania Hodhod has been selected by CSU's Campus Culture Work Crew as a member of the CSU community whose professional activities are worthy of recognition. In describing Hodhod's work, the Crew notes that she " is quick to collaborate with both students and faculty/staff to ensure students are given the highest opportunity for success." The crew also notes that Hodhod "is kind and encouraging, always offering explanations and information that help students make informed decisions." The Spring 2025 graduation ceremony at the University of Memphis was a big one for Turner College management professor Phil Bryant and his family. During the ceremony Bryant's father, Ben, received an honorary doctorate degree and Phil was able to participate in the hooding portion of that event.  "I’m excited, humbled, and honored to be a part of my dad’s hooding ceremony tomorrow at the University of Memphis," Phil Bryant explained the day before the ceremony.  Ben Bryant is currently Executive-in-Residence at the Crews Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Memphis, assisting with advice, direction and mentoring for the initiatives within the Center. He is also a member of the Crews Center for Entrepreneurship Advisory Board, the Management Information Systems Advisory Council, the U of M President’s Innovation Board, and a former Executive-in-Residence of the FedEx Institute of Technology. Columbus State University has named 1,202 undergraduate students to its Spring 2025 President’s List and Dean’s Lists. This represents more than 21% of all undergraduate students enrolled in the spring.  The Dean’s List represents an elite group of undergraduate students who excelled in the classroom by earning a minimum 3.60 semester GPA in at least 12 semester credit hours during the spring. The Dean’s List include 398 students—more than 7% of the university’s spring undergraduate enrollment, with 98 students from the Turner College. These impressive students are listed below.

Columbus State University has named 1,202 undergraduate students to its Spring 2025 President’s List and Dean’s Lists. The President’s List represents the pinnacle of academic achievement and recognizes undergraduate students who achieved a minimum 3.80 semester grade point average in at least 12 semester credit hours during the spring. It includes 804 students—more than 14% of its spring undergraduate enrollment, with 197 students from the Turner College. These incredible students are listed below.

At a recent reception, the CSU Office of Student Life & Development honored registered student organizations and their leaders for their dedication and service to the university and the community. “Student organizations and campus engagement programs allow Columbus State students to create community and find their people,” said Melissa Dempsey, assistant dean of students for student engagement. “Both allow students to connect with others who share their same interests and passions, as well as gain valuable leadership skills, experience through volunteerism and a broad network through social and community programs.” The Turner College and TSYS School were well represented at the reception, as the  Emerging Leader of the Year Award went to  Bryan Lucas , a junior majoring in business management with a concentration in human resources.
