Brooks Joins Turner College Finance Faculty

Joshua Brooks recently began his first year on the finance faculty in the Turner College of Business.  He earned a PhD in finance from the University of Alabama in 2015, and he served as an assistant professor of finance at Lander University from 2014 to 2017.  His research interests include derivatives, investments and applied time series analysis.  Joshua’s research on options valuation has appeared in the Journal of Financial Research , while his work on structural changes in the tax-exempt swap market will appear in the Journal of Empirical Finance .

Choi Joins Turner College Management Faculty

Hyeran Choi recently began her first year with the Turner College management faculty as an assistant professor.  Choi comes to CSU from the University of Illinois, where she earned a PhD in business administration.  Prior to that, she earned an M.A. in human resources and industrial relations from the University of Minnesota.  Choi’s research focuses on goal changes in negotiation, and the impact of communication media on negotiation .

Carroll Joins Faculty of TSYS School

Hyrum Carroll recently joined computer science faculty in TSYS School from Middle Tennessee State University, where he served as an assistant professor in MTSU’s Center for Computational Sciences and Department of Computer Science.  Prior to joining the faculty at MTSU, Carroll served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Center for Biotechnology Information in the National Institutes of Health (Bethesda, MD).  His research is centered on leveraging computational approaches to solve biological problems, and his prior work has made contributions in the areas of database retrieval metrics, both pairwise and multiple sequence alignment, phylogeny search, and biological networks.  Some of Hyrum’s prior research has appeared in Bioinformatics , International Journal of Bioinformatics Research and Applications , International Journal of Computational Biology and Drug Design , and BMC Genomics .  Carroll completed doctoral degree requirements in computer science from Brigham Young Univers

TSYS School Faculty Earn Federal Grant to Develop Cybersecurity Training Tool

The National Security Agency has awarded Turner College researchers a $174,000 grant to develop an intelligent tool for rapid cybersecurity training and curriculum development.   “We are building a tool that people across the nation can use to develop cybersecurity training, which guarantees compliance with government and industry standards for cybersecurity workforce development,” said Shuangbao Wang , a professor in The Turner College’s TSYS School of Computer Science.  “The award makes CSU one of the top universities in the nation in providing technologies for cybersecurity workforce development to universities, government and private sector across the nation.”   The tool will be cloud-based with an expert system that can be accessed anywhere in the world including many Department of Defense installations, Wang said.   The project will include visual mapping, a key technology that was developed at CSU.   This recent grant is another example of the cybersecurity expertise developi

Adah Joins Turner College Accounting Faculty

Leslie Adah recently joined the Turner College of Business as an assistant professor of accounting.  Adah comes to CSU from Mississippi State University, where he served as a visiting professor of accounting from 2015-2017.  Prior to that, he served as an adjunct faculty at the University of Memphis.  Professor Adah earned a PhD in business and accounting from Jackson State University in 2016.
