Leadership Columbus Completes Another Successful Run

One of the most fulfilling assignments entrusted to Turner College alum Ashley Becker by the Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce, where she works as Program Manager, is Leadership Columbus. "Yesterday, we wrapped another wonderful year with Leadership Columbus. Simply saying I am proud of this group is an understatement. The work they have done, are doing, and will continue to do will benefit our community for years to come," Ashley explained. Leadership Columbus is one of three primary programs Ashley manages each year for the Chamber. The others are Young Professionals and Partners in Education.
Ashley graduated from the Turner College with a BBA in management. During her undergraduate studies she was a member of Chamber Chorale, Teen Advisors and the Baptist Student Union. Later, Ashley earned an M.S. in organizational leadership from the Turner College, during which time she was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society and was a member of the Turner College chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management. Ashley's tenure at the Chamber began in August of 2022.
Among the graduates of this year's Leadership Columbus class is retired Maj. Gen. Patrick Donahoe, now the Special Assistant to CSU President Stuart Rayfield. "One of the great things about retirement is the ability to get more involved with your community," Donahoe stated. Donahoe was instrumental in the process that streamlined the Turner College's MSOL program, transitioning it from 36 hours to 30 hours of academic coursework. He also played a pivotal role in opening up the program to all U.S. Army captains and to Fort Jackson's U.S. Army Adjutant General School Graduates. Most recently, he facilitated the program's availability to graduate's of Fort Bliss' U.S. Army Sergeant Major Academy. Turner Business congratulates Donahoe on completion of the Leadership Columbus program, and Ashley for bringing this and other programs to the community.
