An October 2023 post at Turner Business described a new research project by TSYS School computer scientist Riduan Abid and his colleagues at the University of Montreal on Fog computing that sought to improve the performance of privacy-aware Reinforcement Learning agents (i.e., agents that complete tasks within an uncertain environment) that optimize the execution delay of Internet of Things applications by minimizing waiting delay. We can now report that the study now appears in the February 2025 issue of Computer Communications, an A-level journal that publishes scientific articles (both theory and practice) and survey papers covering all aspects of future computer communication networks (on all layers, except the physical layer), with a special attention to the evolution of the Internet architecture, protocols, services, and applications. Congratulations to Professor Abid on this accomplishment.
A few Turner College and TSYS School faculty are closing in various Google Scholar milestones. The research programs of Ed O'Donnell, associate professor of marketing, and Hyrum Carroll, associate professor of computer science, are both closing in on 500 Google Scholar citations. Additionally, research by Phil Bryant, an associate professor of management, is close to surpassing 3,000 Google Scholar citations. Google Citations to Turner College and TSYS School faculty are covered on a regular basis here at Turner Business, so stay tuned for additional stories on these types of accomplishments.
