Google AI Locates Advertisement for New Turner College Dean on Crelate and Teal

Perhaps like yourself, Turner Business is surprised that there has not yet been a public advertisement announcing an opening for a new dean of the Turner College. So, in order to ensure that we were not missing something, we asked Google AI if the Turner College of Business at Columbus State University is searching for a new dean. Here is the response returned by Google AI.
As you can see, Google AI discovered that CSU is currently actively searching for a new dean for its business school and that the executive search firm Buffkin/Baker is assisting with the recruitment process. According to the link provided, Buffkin/Baker has posted an add on Crelate. According to Google AI, Crelate "is an AI-powered recruiting platform and applicant tracking system (ATS) built for staffing agencies, executive search firms, and in-house talent teams." The link to the add is here. Buffkin/Baker describes the leadership requirements for the position in the following way.

Much of the above is boilerplate language. The next section of the ad deals with faculty and staff oversight.

Again, much of the above is boilerplate language for an advertisement of this sort. The third list deals with the general responsibilities of the successful candidate for the position.

Again, generally boilerplate language. Lastly, the two remaining sections deal with minimum qualifications of the successful candidate, and the knowledge, skills and abilities he or she is expected to possess.

Again, all boilerplate phrases and sentences. If the survey that was completed by the Turner College community was utilized to construct this ad, it is very difficult to see where it shaped any of the text above. The Google AI prompt above also returned a link to the ad on Teal. The link to the ad is here. Based on these results, it appears as though Buffkin/Baker is not planning to utilize either The Chronicle of Higher Education, which is the gold standard for searches for university executives, or Inside Higher Ed. If that turns out to be the case, it is possible that some viable candidates will never realize that the Turner College is seeking a new dean.
