The first of the finalists for the 2025 Turner College Research Award is Turner College management professor Kevin Hurt. In 2024, Hurt published servant leadership studies in both American Business Review and Conflict Resolution Quarterly. The first of these is rated as an A-level journal by the Australian Business Deans Council, while the second has a B-level designation. In 2023 Hurt added a publication in the Journal of Values-Based Leadership, a feat he accomplished in 2022 as well. That same year, 2022, he also added a publication in the International Journal of Servant-Leadership. A 2020 publication in Evidence-Based HRM, another B-level journal, gave him six quality research pieces over the last few years. Lastly, Hurt's research has to date garnered 335 Google Scholar citations. That same source credits him with an h-index of 7 and an i10-index of 5. The first of these indicates that Hurt's seven most-cited studies have each garnered at least seven Google Scholar citations, while the latter indicates that he has five studies that have each garnered 10 or more citations.
The second finalist for the 2025 Turner College Research Award is TSYS School computer science professor Rahmatullah Roche, who joined CSU at the beginning this this academic year. In 2024, Roche published studies on neural and transformer networks in Nucleic Acids Research and Biology Methods & Protocols. Based on ratings provided by Scimago, the first of the outlets listed above is designated as an A-level journal, while the second holds the B-level designation. The previous year, 2023, was just as productive for Roche. Then he published in PLoS Computational Biology and Bioinformatics Advances, another A-level/B-level combination. Roche preceded these achievements with two 2022 publications in Proteins: Structure, Function and Bioinformatics, a B-level journal. In 2021, Roche produced a third A-level/B-level combination with his publications in PLoS Computational Biology and Frontiers in Molecular Biosciences, while 2020 arrived with another A-level publication in PLoS One. Lastly, Roche's research has to date garnered 126 Google Scholar citations. That same source credits him with an h-index of 6 and an i10-index of 6. The first of these indicates that Roche's six most-cited studies have each garnered at least six Google Scholar citations, while the latter indicates that he has six studies that have each garnered 10 or more citations.
