Turner College alum Grace Davin was recently promoted from Social Media Coordinator to Associate Social Marketing Manager at Char-Broil. Davin, who graduated from CSU with a BBA in marketing in December of 2022, joined Char-Broil in November of 2022. During her studies in the Turner College, Grace was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society, placing her among the top 10% of Turner College students at the time. She also served as the Turner College's marketing intern during her senior year at CSU. Current Turner College students who wish to emulate Grace's success should note that she landed her initial position with Char-Broil at a Turner College Career Fair. The next such opportunity for current Turner College students is next week, on February 20th.
Officials in the Turner College's Butler Center for Research and Economic Development recently put the finishing touches on an extensive report on trends in educational programs and occupations in the Columbus area. The report also includes data on business and technology trends. According to Fady Mansour , Director of the Butler Center, there are several key takeaways from the report regarding 10 occupational gaps that currently exist in the Columbus area. First, software development occupation exhibits the biggest labor shortage, with the report adding that the TSYS School has a bachelor's degree program in information technology along with a new AI track for the bachelor's degree in computer science, both of which can qualify students for this occupation.
