The first Rite of Passage Lectures for 2023-24 academic year are set for Wednesday, September 27 in the Schwob Library on CSU's main campus. These events serve to recognize CSU faculty who have been promoted to the rank of full professor during the 2022-23 academic year. Kicking off this year's lecture series are Yesem Kurt Peker, a professor of computer science in the Turner College's TSYS School of Computer Science, and Shannon Godlove, a professor of English. Lunch and fellowship start at 12:00 noon, lectures begin at 12:30 pm. Please join us in celebrating the achievements of our colleagues.
The long-awaited journal review being conducted by the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) has been released and there are a number of news items that relate to faculty in the Turner College. One of these is the ABDC's decision to now include Compensation and Benefits Review in its journal rankings. This is big news for the Turner College as its editor, Phil Bryant , is a professor of management in the Turner College. The ABDC is proposing that the journal enter its system for the first time as a C-rated journal. Acting Turner College Dean Tesa Leonce sits on the journal's editorial board, while Turner College management professor Mark James has guest-edited an issue of the journal.
