Turner College associate professor Tesa Leonce was recently named to the editorial board of Compensation & Benefits Review. The journal, which launched in 1969 and is published by SAGE, is the leading journal for senior executives and professionals who design, implement, evaluate and communicate compensation and benefits policies and programs. Leonce joins scholars from Harvard University, Cornell University, University of Chicago, among others, in comprising the 16-member board. Her own 2020 publication in the journal, titled “The Inevitable Rise in Dual Income Households and the Intertemporal Effects on Labor Markets,” currently holds the journal’s highest altmetrics score (of 33). Altmetrics are metrics and qualitative data that are complementary to traditional, citation-based metrics that can include (but are not limited to) citations in public policy documents, discussions on research blogs, mainstream media coverage, and mentions on social networks such as Twitter.
A deeper dive into Leonce’s altmetrics score of 33 by Turner Business reveals that her study in Compensation & Benefits Review is cited in Dani Alexis Ryskamp’s story for The Atlantic titled “The Life in The Simpsons is no Longer Attainable.” Ryskamp’s article, and Leonce’s study, were both mentioned in a FlowingData blog post titled “Not so Likely Life of The Simpsons.” Her study also received coverage in news stories by ValueWalk, Entrepreneur, and MSN News, while it was also cited in a recent paper appearing in the Journal of Public Affairs Education.
