Modern high-density flash memory technologies, such as Quad-Level Cell, commonly employ a hybrid architecture in which a subset of Quad-Level Cell blocks operates in Single-Level Cell mode as a cache for the remaining Quad-Level Cell blocks. In this architecture, hot data, or active, business-critical information that is accessed frequently and requires rapid, low-latency retrieval, are initially programmed to the Single-Level Cell cache and later migrated to the Quad-Level Cell region at block-level granularity. However, limited Single-Level Cell cache capacity and coarse migration granularity, which refers to transferring or moving large blocks of data, objects, or units at one time rather than small, individual pieces, can cause hot data that has not yet cooled to be prematurely migrated to the Quad-Level Cell region, significantly degrading solid-state drive performance and lifespan. Columbus State University reached extraordinary new heights in Fiscal Year 2026, receiving $23,634,627 in total gifts, commitments and planned giving from its philanthropic partners. As reported by Ty Tagami for Capitol Beat , Thomas Fanning will succeed Sonny Perdue as the next Chancellor of the University System of Georgia. Fanning led the Southern Company for 13 years and chaired the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's Board of Directors. At least four of the members of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Class of 2027 have ties to the Turner College.  One of these is Abigail Littleton , Assistant Director of Client Experience for The Leadership Institute at CSU. Littleton earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from the College of Charleston in 2023 and an MSOL degree from the Turner College in 2024. She also holds a graduate certificate in professional writing and technical editing from the University of Kentucky. Joining Littleton is Alexa Johnson Anderson , a fintech customer success leader who currently resides in Atlanta. Anderson holds an undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Georgia, and an MSOL degree from the Turner College. Knowledge of protein-RNA interactions is critical to an understanding of cellular biology, with potential impact on drug design and discovery. Numerous computational methods that have been developed to predict the RNA interaction sites on protein or protein interaction sites on RNA have attained promising prediction performance. However, these methods do not capture the three-dimensional (3D) interactions between protein and RNA in Euclidean space, which convey finer-grained complex structural information.  New research by TSYS School computer scientist Rahmatullah Roche  and Virginia Tech's Sumit Tarafder and Debswapna Bhattacharya presents a protocol to predict three-dimensional protein-RNA complex structural models from their sequences using a deep learning-based approach named ProRNA3D-single. Last week's receipt of new headshots prompted Turner College accounting graduate Andrew Walsh to reintroduce himself to the LinkedIn community. Walsh is a local CPA and CFP who runs Fountain City CPA. In that capacity he helps small business owners and families with tax preparation, tax planning, bookkeeping, and payroll.
