Turner College News & Notes: September 28, 2026

Good news for Turner College faculty. The most recent Australian Business Deans Council journal rankings are now searchable online. So, there is no need to sift through the organization's downloadable Excel file in prepping for your next submission. As reported back in January of this year, the newest iteration of the ABDC's journal rankings includes, for the first time, Compensation and Benefits Review, which is edited by Turner College management professor Phil Bryant, as a C-rated journal. It also continued to place the Journal of Financial Economic Policy, which is edited by Turner College economist Frank Mixon, among the B-rated journals.
The Turner College community is still eagerly awaiting placement in The Chronicle of Higher Education of the advertisement for a new dean. The ad has also yet to appear in either Inside Higher Ed or on CSU's employment opportunities website, putting the Turner College a little behind schedule. In the meantime, another institution seeking a new business dean has entered the market. Rochester Institute of Technology's Saunders College of Business is, according to The Chronicle of Higher Education, seeking a new business dean. The expected compensation for this position is $400,000 per year.

The long-awaited journal review being conducted by the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) has been released and there are a number of news items that relate to faculty in the Turner College. One of these is the ABDC's decision to now include  Compensation and Benefits Review in its journal rankings. This is big news for the Turner College as its editor, Phil Bryant , is a professor of management in the Turner College. The ABDC is proposing that the journal enter its system for the first time as a C-rated journal. Deborah Kidder's Tenure as Dean of the Turner College Set to End on December 12th

The Turner College community was informed this morning that Deborah Kidder 's tenure as Dean of the organization is set to end on December 12, 2025. An e-mail communication to Turner College faculty from CSU Provost & Executive Vice President Dustin Anderson states, " I am writing to share that Dr. Deborah Kidder will be stepping down as Dean of the Turner College of Business & Technology, effective December 12, 2025.
