CSU Double Major and U.S. Army Sergeant Indigo Pullen Telling U.S. Army's Story during Operation Epic Fury
Many young Americas hold down part- and full-time jobs while also attempting to pursue a college degree. Some are able to work on campus while completing their studies, while others work in hospitality or retail in the town where their college or university is located. Certainly not many, and probably not any, pursue a double major while also working halfway around the globe as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during a significant military conflict. That description probably fits only Indigo Pullen, a 46S—Public Affairs Mass Communication Specialist in the U.S. Army who is a double major at CSU working towards a BBA in business management with a concentration in entrepreneurship and a BFA in fine arts. In its role, Indigo's unit serves as the U.S. Army's journalists, photographers, and videographers, creating content for internal and external media. She produces news, manages social media, and supports media operations to tell the U.S. Army's story, which requires a lot of creativity and a host of technical media skills. Indigo is currently at an undisclosed location in the Middle East using her skills to provide needed assistance to the U.S. Army in conducting Operation Epic Fury. With these responsibilities, it amazes that she is 70% through her Turner College degree program in business management and 61% through her degree program in fine arts. Indigo's current goal is to continue serving her country, while in the longer term she wants to open a business related to art or working the museum industry. She would also enjoy using her experience in the U.S. Army and her degrees to possibly being a creative director or work in broadcasting/journalism for a creative-related media release corporation like VICE. Whatever Indigo puts her mind to she will almost certainly be successful in doing. Turner Business salutes her accomplishments thus far, and thanks her for her service to our country. We also give a hat tip to Kirk Heriot, the Turner College's Crowley Professor of Entrepreneurship, for sharing Indigo's amazing story and putting us in touch with her.
