Turner College Faculty Awards: A Look Back

A recent entry here at Turner Business looked at business and computer science faculty recognition at CSU's annual faculty award ceremonies. Similarly, this post takes a look back over the first five Turner College faculty award ceremonies of the current decade. As noted in the table below, wherein business faculty are listed in red and computer science faculty are list in blue, there are a couple of multiple award winners in Joshua Brooks, an associate professor of finance, and Jennifer Pitts, a professor of management information systems. Brooks won the Turner College Teaching Award in 2024 and the Turner College Online Teaching Award in 2022. Pitts won the Turner College Online Teaching Award in 2025 and the Turner College Graduate Teaching Award in 2023. 

 
Of the 25 award winners listed in the table above, 15 are Turner College business faculty and 10 are TSYS School computer science faculty. Of the 15 Turner College business faculty, eight are from the Department of Accounting and Finance and seven are from the Department of Management and Marketing. In terms of an academic discipline breakdown of the 25 winners, 10 are in computer science, four are in finance, three are in economics, three are in management, two are in management information systems, two are in marketing, and one is in accounting.

Deborah Kidder's Tenure as Dean of the Turner College Set to End on December 12th

The Turner College community was informed this morning that Deborah Kidder 's tenure as Dean of the organization is set to end on December 12, 2025. An e-mail communication to Turner College faculty from CSU Provost & Executive Vice President Dustin Anderson states, " I am writing to share that Dr. Deborah Kidder will be stepping down as Dean of the Turner College of Business & Technology, effective December 12, 2025. The New Financial Times Top 50 Business Journals Just Released

The newest list of Top 50 journals in business has been released by The Financial Times . This list is used by many of the top business schools around the globe to evaluate business faculty. Containing only 50 journals, this list is generally too restrictive to use as an assessment tool at most business schools. The typical business school employs longer lists constructed by the Chartered Association of Business Schools, the Australian Business Deans Council and Scimago. The new FT Top 50 list is provided below.
