The beginning of spring semester 2025 marked the end of an era in the TSYS School as the Director of its Center for Cybersecurity, Patrick Aiken, returned to the private sector. Regular followers of Turner Business are very familiar with Patrick's work leading the cybersecurity Nexus program, which has become a crown jewel for the Turner College. Now Patrick will be leading the Global Cybersecurity Awareness team at Aflac. "It's an amazing opportunity to lead an energetic team of professionals as we help keep the Company safe by teaching cybersecurity best practices and conducting monthly phishing exercises to keep people sharp and vigilant about phishing emails. We have also launched an amazing new program called CyberInspire. Our mission is to make our community safer through awareness and inspire the next generation of cybersecurity professionals! We're going out into the community to conduct events to engage kids, empower girls, and educate adults," Patrick explained. Turner Business wishes Patrick well going forward in his new position with Aflac.
The long-awaited journal review being conducted by the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) has been released and there are a number of news items that relate to faculty in the Turner College. One of these is the ABDC's decision to now include Compensation and Benefits Review in its journal rankings. This is big news for the Turner College as its editor, Phil Bryant , is a professor of management in the Turner College. The ABDC is proposing that the journal enter its system for the first time as a C-rated journal. Acting Turner College Dean Tesa Leonce sits on the journal's editorial board, while Turner College management professor Mark James has guest-edited an issue of the journal.
