Turner College alum Ryne Stokes was recently named to the 2024 list of '5 under 40' by Columbus and the Valley magazine. Ryne, who currently works as the Sr. Vice President for Investments at Synovus, earned a BBA in finance from the Turner College in 2008. Since then, he has also earned Series 7 and Series 66 FINRA licenses, while in 2018 he became a certified financial planner. In his current role with Synovus, Ryne maintains a broad knowledge of securities markets and investment vehicles, along with experience and perspective to apply toward the effective management of client assets. He also conducts investment seminars for clients and prospects. Prior to taking this position, Ryne worked as a claims representative for the Social Security Administration. In that role, conducted interviews, developed, investigated and resolved post-entitlement actions, which involved suspension, resumption or termination of eligibility or payments.
The long-awaited journal review being conducted by the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) has been released and there are a number of news items that relate to faculty in the Turner College. One of these is the ABDC's decision to now include Compensation and Benefits Review in its journal rankings. This is big news for the Turner College as its editor, Phil Bryant , is a professor of management in the Turner College. The ABDC is proposing that the journal enter its system for the first time as a C-rated journal. Acting Turner College Dean Tesa Leonce sits on the journal's editorial board, while Turner College management professor Mark James has guest-edited an issue of the journal.
