Ge's Research Surpasses 1,000 Google Scholar Citations

Research by TSYS School associate professor of computer science, Linqiang Ge, recently surpassed 1,000 career Google Scholar citations. Additionally, Google Scholar reports that his i10-index is equal to 25, meaning that Ge has published 25 studies that have each garnered at least 10 citations. Google Scholar also reports two additional metrics. One of these is a scholar’s h-index, which is the largest number, h, of a scholar’s publications that have each garnered at least h citations. Ge’s h-index is 17, meaning that his 17 most-cited studies have each generated at least 17 citations. Another Google Scholar metric is a scholar’s g-index, which is the largest number, g, of a scholar’s publications that have collectively garnered at least g2 citations. Ge’s g-index is 31, meaning that his 31 most-cited studies have collectively produced at least 961 citations.
     Ge’s top-cited publication is a 2023 study on the use of the Internet of Things to carry out daily transportation that appears in Sensors. This piece was co-authored with Damilola Oladimeji, Khushi Gupta, Nuri Alperen Kose, Kubra Gundogan and Fan Liang, all of Sam Houston State University. Ge’s second most-cited publication is a 2016 study on the use of a cloud computing network and threat detection system to secure critical infrastructure that appears in Big Data Research. This paper was published while Ge was affiliated with Towson University. It is co-authored with Zhijiang Chen, Guobin Xu, Vivek Mahalingam, James Nguyen, Wei Yu and Chao Lu, all of Towson University. Ge joined the TSYS School in 2020 from Georgia Southwestern State University, where he served as Chair of the Department of Computer Science. He earned a PhD in computer science from Auburn University.

Turner College Grad Publishes Academic Study on Corporate Culture and Strategy

Former Turner College student Tamara Todorova , now an associate professor of economics at American University in Bulgaria (AUB), recently published a study on corporate culture and strategy. Todorova earned an MBA from the Turner College in 1996 and then went on to earn a doctorate in international economics from the University of Economics - Varna in 2001. She has been on the faculty at AUB since August of 2000. Todorova's study, which appears in the current issue of the International Journal of Business Performance Management , investigates how corporate culture helps to economize on the transaction costs of internal organization. As she explains, the dimensions of corporate culture that assist in this task include increasing trust and reducing intrafirm opportunism. Todorova's study demonstrates that setting common goals and a common direction reduces the sizeable costs of internal organization. Hammer joins Turner College Finance Faculty

The Turner College's Department of Accounting and Finance welcomes Melissa Ingle Hammer , who joins the group as an adjunct faculty in finance.  Hammer graduated from the Turner College in 2005, after earning a BBA in finance. She later went on to earn an MBA from Auburn University, a Specialist Certificate in Conduct Risk from the University of Manchester, a Certificate in Team Culture from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Certificate in Executive Presence from Cornell University. Hammer is the SVP of Fair Lending Product Management with RiskExec at Asurity. She previously worked as Compliance Manager of Fair Lending at Synovus, a senior regulatory consultant with Wolters Kluwer, and as VP of Compliance at TD. This semester Hammer will be teaching FINC 3135, Financial Institutions and Technologies. Turner Business  welcomes Melissa and wishes her a great first semester in the Turner College.
