Turner College student Oliver Odde has joined the Turner College's Butler Center staff and will be assisting Fady Mansour, the Director of the Butler Center, in providing economic development analyses to local governments and businesses. Odde, a senior in the Turner College majoring in management information systems, brings an interesting background to the job. Born in Seattle, Oliver grew up outside of Evansville, Indiana. Shortly after high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he spent 12 years as a tank crewman, five of which were spent at Fort Moore. Oliver is currently the secretary of the Turner College's chapter of SHRM, and in that position he serves alongside his wife, Natasya Odde, a Columbus native who is currently in the Turner College's MSOL program and serves as the SHRM vice president. In addition to their academic endeavors, Oliver and Natasya are raising two teenage boys. Oliver plans to enter the Turner College's MBA program after graduating from CSU with a BBA in MIS. In terms of the more distant future, Oliver stated, "I like economics, data, and analytics, but as far as where I go or to what industry or what company, I am leaving that door wide open. I have aspirations to be a CEO eventually, or at least a CIO or COO of a larger, well-known company. Any employment that offers me growth opportunities, challenging and engaging work, and doesn't interfere with my personal goals, will be well suited for me." Turner Business joins other Turner College faculty and staff in welcoming Oliver to the Butler Center.
