Turner Business is pleased to announce that three faculty have been nominated for the 2024 Turner College Faculty Research Award. The first of these is Jasmine Bordere, associate professor of accounting in the Turner College. Bordere joined CSU after completing PhD studies at the University of Alabama. During this time Bordere published an article on audit risks in Current Issues in Auditing, and since joining the Turner College she has published five articles in Internal Auditing. The two most recent of these, each published in 2021, delve into unsustainable dividend payments and climate change financial reporting disclosures. In 2020, Bordere's research program branched into servant leadership. That year she published a study in the International Journal of Servant-Leadership examining servant leadership examples during the well-known U.S. Navy Seal mission memorialized by the motion picture Lone Survivor. Bordere also has a study in the current issue of Education Sciences that explores the student evaluation of teaching premium associated with clinical faculty in U.S. academe.
The second nominee is Johnny Ho, professor of management in the Turner College. Ho is currently a nominee for the 2024 CSU Faculty Research and Scholarship Award, which he has won multiple times during his tenure at CSU. His recent research on patient healthcare data management appears in the current issue of Health and Technology. Last year, he and others published work on improving 3D printing technology in the Journal of Composites Science, and in 2022 he was part of a team that published research on sustainable packaging in the International Journal of Business Research & Information Technology. Perhaps the most impressive recent addition to Ho's research portfolio is a 2022 publication, co-authored with a number of other Turner College faculty, in the Journal of Computer Information Systems on goal setting in enterprise systems learning. The third nominee is Lixin Wang, professor of computer science in the TSYS School. Wang, who won the 2022 Turner College Faculty Research Award, was recently ranked third in the world on the basis of research productivity with regard to the cybersecurity topic of stepping-stone intrusion. His recent research in this area appears in Electronics, the Journal of Mobile Networks, Ubiquitous Computing, and Dependable Applications, and the Journal of Internet Services and Information Security. Turner Business has in the past reported on Wang's research on irregularities in network computing that appears in Ad Hoc & Sensor Wireless Networks. One particularly noteworthy feature of Wang's research is that much of it, including several of the studies mentioned above and a recent one on combatting chaff attacks that appears in Electronics, is co-authored with TSYS School computer science students. This provides a wonderful experience for them and a boost to their careers.
