Turner College associate professor of management Phil Bryant recently surpassed 2,500 career Google Scholar citations. Additionally, Google Scholar reports that his i10-index is equal to 13, meaning that Bryant has published 13 studies that have each garnered at least 10 citations. Google Scholar also reports two additional metrics. One of these is a scholar’s h-index, which is the largest number, h, of a scholar’s publications that have each garnered at least h citations. Bryant’s h-index is 11, meaning that his 11 most-cited studies have each generated at least 11 citations. Another Google Scholar metric is a scholar’s g-index, which is the largest number, g, of a scholar’s publications that have collectively garnered at least g2 citations. Bryant’s g-index is 33, meaning that his 33 most-cited studies have collectively produced at least 1,089 citations. Bryant's top-cited publication is a 2010 study on retaining talent that appears in Academy of Management Perspectives. Another piece on the same subject – this one appearing in a 2013 issue of Compensation and Benefits Review – has garnered the second-most citations over Bryant’s career. Each of these studies was co-authored with David Allen of the University of Memphis, while the first of the two was also written with James Vardaman of Mississippi State University. Bryant joined the Turner College in 2010, coming from a faculty position at Christian Brothers University. Prior to that he earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Baylor University, an MBA from Belhaven University and a PhD in management from the University of Memphis.
CSU Head Women's Soccer Coach Jay Entlich recently released a list of CSU faculty who have been chosen by a player as a member of the CSU faculty who has impacted the player in a positive way along their journey at CSU. Four Turner College faculty were included on the list, along with the player who nominated each. Management professor Phil Bryant was named by Sophia Leal , a freshman midfielder from Oxford, Georgia. Sophia attended Eastside High School and was a two-time all-region selection during her high school career. Through the first 10 games of 2024, she has scored one goal and recorded three assists. Next, management professor John Finley was named by Lizz Forshaw , a graduate student forward from Stockton, England. Lizz, who attended IMG Academy in south Florida, has scored four goals and recorded four assists this season. During her senior year in 2023, she scored three goals and recorded two assists.
