Turner College Alum Blazing a Path in FinTech

When Facebook launched in 2004, it changed the way people connect. Apps like Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp further empowered billions around the world. Now, Meta is moving beyond 2D screens toward immersive experiences like augmented and virtual reality to help build the next evolution in social technology. Assisting on the fintech side of that effort is Turner College alum Daniela Castillo Raubenheimer, who graduated Summa Cum Laude with a double major in accounting and finance in 2010. While a student in the Turner College, Daniela was a member of the Georgia Communication Association, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Phi Beta Delta and the Columbus Hispanic Association. She was also listed Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges and selected as a top 10 student for the CSU Honors Conference. These accomplishments all occurred while Daniela was also a scholarship athlete on CSU's varsity tennis team. During her playing days Daniela was a member of an NCAA top 5 tennis program, during which time she was also nominated as CSU's student-athlete of the year.
Daniela's higher education journey did not end with her studies in CSU's Turner College. In fact, in 2016 she earned an MBA with a concentration on marketing and consulting from UCLA's Anderson School of Management. While at UCLA, she was the VP of Professional Development for the Women's Business Connection, Director of International Affairs for the High Technology Business Association, and President of the Anderson tennis team. Daniela later earned a Data Analytics and Visualization Certificate from General Assembly, a Leadership Certificate from the Hispanic Alliance, a FinTech Certificate from the Harvard School of Business, and a User Experience Design Certification from General Assembly.
After joining Meta in 2021, Daniel led its global payment network partnerships with Visa, Mastercard, Amex and Discover, including business development for Meta's core product experiences (i.e., ads, donations, e-commerce, marketplace, P2P, and messaging payments). Currently, she is leading Meta's strategy and roadmap for open banking and banking as a service partnership. After completing a marketing internship at Merrill Lynch, Daniela began her career as a marketing research analyst with Top Doctors Labs. From there she transitioned to Premium Segment Marketing Analyst for Banco de Bogota, and later to Client Consulting Director for Visa. These professional experiences took Daniela from Columbus, Georgia, to Bogota, Colombia, and then to San Francisco, California, where she lives and works today.
