According to a new study, Turner College associate dean and professor of economics, Tesa Leonce-Regalado, ranks among the top Black academic economists in the U.S. The study, which is set to appear in the Review of Black Political Economy, ranks economists on the basis of citations to their prior research. According to this process, Leonce-Regalado is tied at 168th with Michael Mamo of Westminster College. Both Leonce-Regalado and Mamo are ranked just ahead of Russell Williams of Wheaton College, Ian Wright of the University of Miami, and MacKenzie Alston of the University of Illinois, and just behind Uchechukwu Jarrett of the University of Nebraska, David McMillon of Emory University, and Regina Tawah of Bowie State University. Officials in the Turner College's Butler Center for Research and Economic Development recently put the finishing touches on an extensive report on trends in educational programs and occupations in the Columbus area. The report also includes data on business and technology trends. According to Fady Mansour , Director of the Butler Center, there are several key takeaways from the report regarding 10 occupational gaps that currently exist in the Columbus area. First, software development occupation exhibits the biggest labor shortage, with the report adding that the TSYS School has a bachelor's degree program in information technology along with a new AI track for the bachelor's degree in computer science, both of which can qualify students for this occupation.
