The Turner College's JJ Bryan is a senior international business major from Buena Vista, GA. She currently holds the marketing intern position for the Turner College under Laurie Aiken. Her job consists of creating the weekly Turner Tuesday news videos, traveling to high schools to promote the Turner College, designing graphics and flyers for all sorts of events/notices, shooting photos and videos for the CSU website, and running all Turner College social media accounts including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube. "I love this position and I have learned so much from it like working in an office, communication skills, and work/school/life balance," Bryan told Turner Business. Bryan is very involved on campus, serving as VP of Programs for Delta Zeta Sorority, President of the Marketing Organization, a Presidential Envoy since 2021, Student Ambassador for Turner College, and a member of Beta Gamma Sigma. She also studied abroad during Maymester 2023 in Scotland. As Bryan explained, "This was an amazing experience because I love to travel. There I immersed myself in Scottish culture by eating great food, visiting castles, and learning how the Scots do business." Bryan plans to graduate this December and pursue her passions in International Business and Marketing. "I love Columbus State and I can't wait to be a proud Alum come December," she added.
Officials in the Turner College's Butler Center for Research and Economic Development recently put the finishing touches on an extensive report on trends in educational programs and occupations in the Columbus area. The report also includes data on business and technology trends. According to Fady Mansour , Director of the Butler Center, there are several key takeaways from the report regarding 10 occupational gaps that currently exist in the Columbus area. First, software development occupation exhibits the biggest labor shortage, with the report adding that the TSYS School has a bachelor's degree program in information technology along with a new AI track for the bachelor's degree in computer science, both of which can qualify students for this occupation.
