Mansour Named Director of the Butler Center of Business and Economic Research

Turner College Dean Deb Kidder announced the appointment of Fady Mansour to the position of Director of the Butler Center for Business and Economic Research and the Sarah T. Butler Distinguished University Chair of Business and Finance, subject to Board of Regents approval.  Mansour received a doctorate in economics from Middle Tennessee State University in 2017, an MA in Economics from Virginia State University in 2012, and a BS in Agricultural Science from Ain Shams University in 1999. As Kidder stated, "Dr. Mansour, who is both an accomplished scholar and an award-winning teacher, has made significant contributions to our college community through his dedicated service in various capacities. Dr. Mansour brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for helping others to his new role. Dr. Mansour’s publication record is impressive in terms of the number of publications - 9 since 2018 - as well as his focus on important social issues, such as income insecurity, welfare participation and health care, which aligns with the AACSB accreditation requirement of making a positive social impact." In addition to his scholarly contributions, Mansour has been a leader in the Turner College's G2C initiative, while his commitment to fostering a dynamic and inclusive learning environment led to him receiving the Turner College Teaching award in 2019 and being nominated for three university-level teaching awards. Mansour’s commitment to Turner College and CSU also extends beyond the classroom. He has contributed his time and expertise to numerous committees and initiatives, including serving on the very challenging Strategic Alignment taskforce and chairing the Retention, Progression and Graduation Committee (RPG). He also has participated in many recruitment activities, volunteered to represent Turner College at events such as the Chamber of Commerce Black Tie Gala, and presented to students at Hardaway High School to prepare for their Academic Decathlon competition. These are just a few of the ways that he has helped serve our institution and the Columbus community. "As the newly appointed Director of the Butler Center, Dr. Mansour is poised to lead with vision and innovation. He dedication to academic excellence and community engagement make him the ideal candidate to lead the Butler Center. We confidently anticipate the positive impact he will undoubtedly make, further advancing our university’s commitment to workforce and economic development," Kidder concluded.

Deborah Kidder's Tenure as Dean of the Turner College Set to End on December 12th

The Turner College community was informed this morning that Deborah Kidder 's tenure as Dean of the organization is set to end on December 12, 2025. An e-mail communication to Turner College faculty from CSU Provost & Executive Vice President Dustin Anderson states, " I am writing to share that Dr. Deborah Kidder will be stepping down as Dean of the Turner College of Business & Technology, effective December 12, 2025.
