New research from the UK-China Joint Intelligent Center of Special Equipment and Robotics has named the most productive scholars in the field of intelligent manufacturing during 2021. The authors of the project indicate that their ranking methodology uses the international general selection method to identify the 1,000 highly cited scholars with the most global influence in the field from citations data found in Emerald Publishing’s database. The 2021 ranking appears in the latest issue of the Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing and Special Equipment, and it indicates that Mark James, an associate professor of management, and Tesa Leonce, an associate professor of economics, are ranked 893rd and 895th, respectively. At the top of the ranking is Bilal Alhayani of Yildiz Technical University (Turkey), while the highest-ranked U.S.-based scholar is Hoejin Kim of the University of Texas – El Paso, who is ranked third overall. James and Leonce rank close behind John Gorman, at 890th, from the University of Minnesota, and ahead of A.M.M. Ahsan, at 919th, from North Dakota State University. Lastly, both James and Leonce rank ahead of scholars from the University of Oklahoma, University of Colorado, Fresno State University, Penn State University and Southern Methodist University.
The long-awaited journal review being conducted by the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) has been released and there are a number of news items that relate to faculty in the Turner College. One of these is the ABDC's decision to now include Compensation and Benefits Review in its journal rankings. This is big news for the Turner College as its editor, Phil Bryant , is a professor of management in the Turner College. The ABDC is proposing that the journal enter its system for the first time as a C-rated journal. Acting Turner College Dean Tesa Leonce sits on the journal's editorial board, while Turner College management professor Mark James has guest-edited an issue of the journal.
