Crupi to Speak to CSU Faculty on Future of Higher Ed

Interim CSU President John Fuchko recently announced that Jim Crupi, President and Founder of Strategic Leadership Solutions, will be speaking to CSU faculty on March 16, 2023, about the forces shaping the future, their implications for American society and higher education and the challenge of educating the next generation of students who are being raised in the digital global economy.  Crupi, a noted futurist, scholar, and leader, has served as a consultant to the Office of the President of United States, as well as to notable companies such as Coca-Cola, AT&T, Intel, IBM, Siemens, and Hewlett Packard, among many others.  He has also appeared on CNN, Fox Business Network with Neil Cavuto, and National Public Radio.  “CSU has a proud history of embracing a culture of innovation and partnership while being responsive to shifting trends and workforce needs. Jim’s leadership style is to inspire people to think differently about how to solve problems and create new opportunities for success,” said Fuchko in announcing the event.  “He will provide realistic insight on how individuals and organizations must think and lead when responding to complex changes in the marketplace as well as generate ideas and frameworks that help us reexamine and strengthen our approach to academic planning as we strategically identify new academic degree programs and initiatives that are congruent with our institutional mission and align with our current and future workforce and community needs,” Fuchko continued.  Faculty attending the two-hour event will be able to discuss how CSU selects new academic degree programs to create or enhance how those programs could be structured and delivered.  “This work will be a transparent and open process and [faculty] feedback is welcomed. [Faculty] willingness to engage while we look to the future with hope and purpose is greatly appreciated,” Fuchko concluded.

In terms of educational background, Crupi earned an undergraduate degree from the University of North Georgia, a master’s degree from the University of Southern California, and a doctorate from the University of Florida.  He also completed advanced work at the London Business School, Oxford University, and the International Management Institute in Geneva.  Prior to his current consulting work, he served as a company commander and instructor at the elite Army Ranger School.  He currently serves as a board member of Global Network Foundation, Middle East Leadership Academy, and the University of North Georgia.
