Anastasia
Angelopoulou recently joined the Turner College’s TSYS School as an assistant
professor of computer science.
Angelopoulou comes to CSU from Wichita State University, where she
served as an instructor of computer science from January of 2018 through July
of 2018. Professor Angelopoulou earned a
PhD in computer science from the University of Central Florida in 2015. Prior to that, in 2012, she earned an M.S.
degree in computer science from the same institution. Her research interests include modeling and
simulation, human-robot interaction and task analysis, and her prior work on architecture and development in simulation
modeling appears in a 2018 issue of Simulation.
Officials in the Turner College's Butler Center for Research and Economic Development recently put the finishing touches on an extensive report on trends in educational programs and occupations in the Columbus area. The report also includes data on business and technology trends. According to Fady Mansour , Director of the Butler Center, there are several key takeaways from the report regarding 10 occupational gaps that currently exist in the Columbus area. First, software development occupation exhibits the biggest labor shortage, with the report adding that the TSYS School has a bachelor's degree program in information technology along with a new AI track for the bachelor's degree in computer science, both of which can qualify students for this occupation.
