Columbus State University has appointed Bryan Banks as the Dean of Libraries & Archives. A member of the university’s faculty since 2018, he has served as Interim Dean of Libraries & Graduate School since 2024.  In his new role, Banks will lead the CSU library network’s strategic vision, academic planning and operations. This network features the Simon Schwob Memorial Library on Main Campus, as well as specialized art and music libraries at the RiverPark Campus. With nearly 300,000 items in its collections, the libraries provide informational access to all programs on campus. Additionally, it includes the Archives & Special Collections, charged with preserving university and regional history, along with maintaining more than 500 distinct collections that include the renowned J. Finance professor and chair of the Department of Accounting and Finance, Gisung Moon , has been named as the Turner College's Assessment Director. According to Interim Dean Tesa Leonce 's announcement at Tuesday's Fall 2026 meeting, the Assessment Director works collaboratively with the Assurance of Learning Committee to provide leadership, coordination, and oversight of all assessment activities supporting AACSB and SACS accreditation requirements. In this role Moon will manage and monitor learning outcomes across all academic programs, (1) ensuring that assessment processes and outcomes align with institutional and accreditation standards and (2) promoting a culture of continuous improvement through the systematic evaluation of student learning. The loss of enrollment at CSU that Turner Business has been reporting on for quite some time continues into Fall 2026. This report examines the current fall-to-fall enrollment numbers within the Turner College. These are shown in the table below. As indicated below, enrollment in the Department of Accounting & Finance has fallen to its current Fall 2026 level by 8.0% since Fall 2025. From Fall 2024 until today, the enrollment drop in this unit stands at 9.8%. The Department of Management and Marketing's trends are worse. Since Fall 2025, this unit has lost 12.9% of its enrollment. Over the longer period since Fall 2024, this unit's loss stands at 16.7%. There is, however, a bit of better news to report for the TSYS School. There, enrollments have risen by 12.6% since Fall 2025, and by 3.5% since Fall 2024. CSU's Office of University Advancement, led by Chief Advancement Officer Karen McCauley, is the process of hiring a new development officer with dedicated responsibilities to the Turner College and TSYS School. CSU is in the early stages of a new capital campaign, with an ultimate goal of raising $125 million by 2030 and an intermediate goal of having $80 million of that total secured by 2028. The new development officers will not only assist in meeting these goals, he or she is expected to raise about $2 million per year going forward and to reinvigorate the Turner College's now dormant Business Advisory Council. In making the announcement at the Turner College Orientation on Tuesday, August 4, officials noted that the new development officer will maintain an office in the Synovus Center. The Turner College begins the 2026-2027 academic year with five Academic Success Coaches, two of whom are returning from this past academic year. Elizabeth Chess returns to assist students in management and marketing, while Shaneka Thrash returns as the lead Coach for the Turner College and to work with students in accounting and finance. Joining them are Brittany Hewitt , who will be assigned to cybersecurity and information technology students, Marsha Taylor , who will work with computer science and management information systems students, and Cassandra Montesclaros , who will coach general business majors. These individuals have important tasks, and Turner Business extends its gratitude for all that they do to support student success.

When fall semester classes convene on Monday, 48 Turner College and TSYS School business and computer science students will have their academic pursuits supported by endowed scholarships (provided by local supporters) in the Turner College's portfolio. The scholarships range in value from $1,000 to $7,500 for the academic year, and a total of $105,600 in endowment returns was available to support these students. The numbers indicate that the average award is $2,200 for the 2026-2027 academic year. Turner Business congratulates these students and wishes them the best in the academic year ahead.

Once again CSU's fall enrollment is down, this time by 2.8% from Fall 2025 to Fall 2026. When compared to Fall 2024, this fall's enrollment is down 5.8% overall. Although the Turner College's slide, currently at 2.4%, from Fall 2025 to this year tracks that of the overall institution, its drop since Fall 2024 is 8.6%, well beyond the institution's retreat since that same time. Enrollment in the College of Letters and Sciences is experiencing an enrollment decline of 4.5% since Fall 2025, and an 8.4% drop since Fall 2024. The College of Education and Health Professions hasn't experienced the same size drop, with its enrollment declining by only 1.0% since last year, and by only 2.1% since Fall 2024. The College of the Arts, on the other hand, has seen worse trends. Its enrollment has dipped by 4.5% since Fall 2025, and by 11.6% since Fall 2024.
