TSYS School professor of computer science Rania Hodhod received the 2024 CSU Teaching Innovation Award at the annual CSU Faculty Awards Ceremony. This award recognizes and rewards the efforts of faculty members who develop and practice innovative methodologies in pedagogy, while also showcasing the creative innovations of the faculty members that facilitate enhanced learning. Hodhod's approach to teaching exemplifies the traits present in prior winners of this award. For example, she currently employs an AI-powered auto-tracking webcam in the classroom in order to enhance the learning experiences of her online students. The camera allows Hodhod to move around the classroom while tracking her audio and zooming in and out at appropriate times, thus providing a more immersive learning experience. Next, since 2016 Hodhod has organized three study abroad trips to Japan that have promoted cultural exchange between Turner College computer science students and their counterparts in Japan. Relatedly, Hodhod has used Google Classrooms to provide a partnership between her computer science students and computer science students at Future Academy in Egypt. Using the software, students in both locations provided oral presentations to each other in an effort to enhance cultural competency across each group. "My goal as a college professor extends beyond
simply nurturing a highly skilled workforce; it encompasses the transformation of my students into
individuals who thrive on challenges, possess a global perspective, and are adept critical thinkers.
Consequently, I place great emphasis on fostering my students' analytical thinking and effective problem-solving strategies," Hodhod stated. Turner Business congratulates Rania on this outstanding achievement.

The video helps to guide new students on where to go in the building and who they can talk to if they help. The video showcases the Student Services Center, the main lobby, and more. The video is played as part of a loop on video screens placed throughout the Synovus Center. Lizzy's list of activities at CSU is impressive. She is the Treasurer of the Turner College's Marketing Club, the President of Marketing for the Turner College's chapter of the Financial Management Association, and an Ambassador for the Turner College.
