TSYS School student Daniel Shafer received the Computer Science Student of Excellence Award at the 2024 Scholastic Honors Convocation held recently on CSU's main campus. "It was a wonderful surprise and great honor," Daniel stated. "[B]ig thanks to Dr. Rania Hodhod[, Chair of the TSYS School,] for presenting the award and working so hard to make the school of computer science such a great place to learn and grow." Danield holds an Associate's of Science degree from CSU and is scheduled to earn a B.S. in computer science in December of 2024. He currently works as a compliance fraud analyst at Aflac, a position he has held for almost two years. Prior to that he worked as an accounting clerk for BancTec. Turner Business joins the faculty of the TSYS School in congratulating Daniel on this outstanding academic achievement.
The Turner College's new marketing intern Lizzy Grant , a senior marketing major from Newnan who previously attended Gordon State College, where she played varsity soccer, and is scheduled to graduate from the Turner College in May of 2024, has hit the ground running in her new position. She recently played a large role in the creation of a video tour of the Synovus Center, the main campus home of the Turner College. The video helps to guide new students on where to go in the building and who they can talk to if they help. The video showcases the Student Services Center, the main lobby, and more. The video is played as part of a loop on video screens placed throughout the Synovus Center. Lizzy's list of activities at CSU is impressive.
