Turner College grad Renitta Sweet was recently named Communications Chair for the Urban League of Greater Atlanta Young Professionals. Renitta, who is currently the Manager of Sales and Marketing for the New York-based the*gameHERs, holds a bachelor's degree in management and marketing from CSU. "The Urban League Young Professionals has been an incredible way to become involved and active in my community. Since 2016 I've served as a founding member of the Columbus chapter, Treasurer and then President. I was excited I had the opportunity to continue in service after relocating to Atlanta," Sweet explained. Renitta is also a member of the Junior League of Atlanta, AMA Atlanta, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Chattahoochee Valley. Officials in the Turner College's Butler Center for Research and Economic Development recently put the finishing touches on an extensive report on trends in educational programs and occupations in the Columbus area. The report also includes data on business and technology trends. According to Fady Mansour , Director of the Butler Center, there are several key takeaways from the report regarding 10 occupational gaps that currently exist in the Columbus area. First, software development occupation exhibits the biggest labor shortage, with the report adding that the TSYS School has a bachelor's degree program in information technology along with a new AI track for the bachelor's degree in computer science, both of which can qualify students for this occupation.
