After graduating from the Turner College with a BBA in May of 2020, and working the next year as an auditor for Page, Scrantom, Sprouse, Tucker & Ford, P.C., K iley McKenna joined Synovus as a financial analyst associate in May of 2021. One year later, in 2022, she completed the MBA program in the Turner College, and just last month, September of 2023, Riley was promoted to financial analyst by Synovus. During her undergraduate studies in the Turner College, Kiley served as both treasurer and president of the Theta Theta chapter of Phi Mu. She was also inducted into the Order of Omega Greek Honor Society. Turner Business congratulates Kiley on her recent promotion with Synovus and wishes her the best going forward.

The Turner College is seeking re-accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) after the end of this calendar year. This process requires submission by the Turner College of a progress report, which is due near the middle of December of 2023. After that, an AACSB visitation team will visit the Turner College for three days in early March of 2024. A few weeks after that visit the Turner College Dean,   Deb Kidder , will be notified of the results of the review by AACSB. A substantial part of this process involves judgment of the scholarly activity of the Turner College faculty. A number of prior economic studies have examined both the common property or open access nature of surf breaks and the concomitant behavior of the surfers who exploit them.  Turner College economics professor  Frank Mixon  has in the past contributed to the  formal modeling of the decision by local surfers to form coalitions (i.e., surf gangs) in order to prohibit access to higher-quality surf breaks by non-locals, whose presence serves to crowd the break and diminish the utility it is able to provide surfers. Turner College students (online included), faculty and staff are invited to participate in the 2023 Halloween costume contest. To participate, please send your in-costume photo by e-mail to Executive Assistant  Elizabeth Ches s (chess_elizabeth@columbusstate.edu) by 5:00 pm on Halloween (October 31, 2023). Contestants who would rather drop by the Turner College's administrative offices on the 2nd floor of the Synovus Center and have their picture taken by a staff person are welcome may do so during office hours. All photos will be placed on the Turner College's Instagram and voting will extend until 5:00 pm on November 1, 2023. The photo garnering the most "likes" will receive a basket of Turner College swag and candy.
